Rondin

Support

Rondin keeps photos and notes organized by the places they happened. You pin the places that matter, shoot with any camera, and the app files each photo and note to its place. Leave a note at a place and it’s there the next time you arrive. Everything stays on your phone and in your own iCloud.

Questions

Does Rondin need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and no password. Your records are yours, on your phone and in your own iCloud.

Why does it ask for Always location?

Only for two optional features, visit logging and arrival alerts, which work while the app is closed. With Always, iOS tells the app when you cross into or out of a place you defined, and when you have moved a long way, so it can choose which of your places to watch. Those positions are used on the spot and never stored. In the background, nothing about your location is recorded except the visit stamps you turned on. Everything else in the app works with location off.

Why does it ask for read and write access to Photos?

Because iOS has no read-only level of photo access. Rondin never adds to, changes, or removes anything in your library. When you allow access, it reads each item’s location and catalogue details to decide whether it belongs to one of your places, and opens the picture only for an item whose location falls inside a place you defined.

Can the developer see my records?

No. There are no servers. Your records live on your phone and, if iCloud is on for the app, in your own Apple account, encrypted by Apple, where the developer cannot reach them.

Does it work without iCloud?

Yes. Everything works on the phone alone. iCloud is how your records are backed up and reach your other devices; turn it off for Rondin in the iPhone Settings app if you would rather not.

My photos are not being filed automatically.

Check four things. Photo library access is allowed for Rondin in Settings. The photo has a location saved in it (the stock Camera saves one when Location Services is on for Camera). That location falls inside one of your places, allowing for the radius you gave it. And the app has been opened since the photo was taken: Rondin checks for new photos every time it opens.

I deleted something by mistake.

Open Settings in the app and look in Recently Deleted. Anything deleted stays there for 30 days and can be restored.

What does the name mean?

Rondín is the Spanish word for a watchman’s round. The app began at a night patrol company in Dallas.

What does it run on?

iPhone, iOS 26 or later.
